greetings from chicago
i am finally here in the city of chicago. it was an eventful day. for one, i thought my flight was at 10.00am when it was at 11.00am. so i got to the airport even before 9.00am. for another, my flight got delayed. again.
but this time, for 4 hours.
why? because the chicago o'hare airport CLOSED DOWN due to "bad weather conditions" (i.e. chicago, the windy city was experiencing some pretty bad thunderstorms tt were resulting in really low visibility and a lot of air turbulence).
as a result, i spent the time from 11.00am to 3.00pm sitting on the runway in la guardia airport waiting for the guys at o'hare to radio my flight captain on when it would be possible to fly to chicago.
well. it seems my travelling conditions have been nothing but a test of patience and self-preservation skills (i.e. remaining calm and not panicking or getting unduely annoyed). fortunately i seem to be able to do both very well. i attribute this to what has transpired in the past few days which have been VERY FUCKING EVENTFUL. one such event is celebrating new year's in times square. which involves an 8-hour waiting time standing up without food or drink in the new york cold. oh, and no toilet break either. the other such event is what i shall henceforth call the DGL event. which refers to "diana getting lost". tt involved a fair bit of panic and us calling the various police precincts, the singapore embassy and a hospital in new york, as well as a physical "man (or diana) hunt" at all the subway stations near lionel's place to look for her. fortunately, she was neither really lost. and she came home. eventually.
but yes. travelling is much of a learning curve for me in either qualities tt i am trying to possess. needless to say, the past few days have been jam-packed, and no. i have not had internet access ever since i moved from lionel's place to adrian's place (yes. you can consider it another event to note). so i shall probably blog about the past few days at length later when i have more time and a better chance to. you might probably have to wait till i return to vancity on the 5th. i am waiting for jason to come back from downtown (i would have gone with him except for tt 4 fucking hour delay which means i can't do fuck now coz it's too late). i wonder what we can do tonight.
actually right now. i just want to sleep. like, really.
now playing: hotel costes - cafe de flor
