Edward's Birthday
Yesterday was Edward's birthday! After my project meeting for my Psychology and Litigation presentation paper, 15 of us met at Banana Leaf on Alma for dinner. Well, Diana, Ben and I went over to Chapters to get Edward this journal first - The Purpose Driven Journal. Of course, we were later to find out tt he already had it. But tt'sy there beside the point.
We got to Banana Leaf at 6.25pm - 5 min before the rest of them. We also got lectured by the waitress about the importance of punctuality (coz they had to hold a reservation for 3 tables at a restaurant where queues are a common sight). There was 1 oval-shaped table and 1 long table. Edward's side at the oval-shaped table shared a lot of different dishes, while Ester, Christabel, Simin and Liling shared rice and another few dishes on my side. The 3 lawyers - usual lah. Order 3 dishes and share: char kuay teow, nasi lemak and roti prata.
After a really long dinner, we hopped over to the Coppertank Grill 2 min away for drinks. Bang Yao was attempting to get Edward drunk tonight. They started out with 4 tequila shots, and teaching Edward how to take tequila shots. First put some salt on your hand, lick it, down the shot, and suck the lemon.
All well and good... Except Edward didn't down. He SIPPED. The tequila shot.
The whole table was howling with laughter coz it was utterly incredulous.
But yeah, after his 3rd or 4th try, he finally downed the shot. And sucked his own lemon and 2 other people's(!!!) in a bid to get rid of the taste.
After tt, Bang Yao promised him no more shots. He said he would order him iced tea instead.
Yar right. Long Island Iced Tea.
The rest of us got beers, cocktails, and other drinks.
Just squished ourselves into this table in the corner and ended up playing silly drinking games all night.
And then after the "iced tea" and something tt looked like cranberry vodka, Edward was pretty much gone - head on the table, puking up and all tt.
So yeah. We decided tt it was time to go. The clubbers (not me this time) went clubbing. The rest of us helped walk Edward back. He was a lot better by now of course.
Said he was very happy. :)
I am happy for him too. I like Edward. He's a damn nice guy.
