kua zhang

wah lau. every night "study" till ungodly hours... except tt at least 2 (to 4, depending on length of game(s)) of those hours are spent on dota.

last night ben and i drove farnie nuts. first we supposed to study, then both of us played dota till she lost her motivation to study and went off to lalaland. then we woke her up by traumatising her with endless winks and emoticons on msn until she gave in and let us walk her (and me, essentially) back to totem to zzz for real.

and today was just strange. spent some time in steve wrexler's class listening to farnie read her essay. after tt supposed to meet project group mates for project group discussion. but today st. patrick's day (re: see wikipedia for info on st. patty's day. but here it's mainly an excuse for people to wear green, party and get drunk!). law school was having a trike race.

which basically consisted of mad law students getting on these little red tricycles (the kind BABIES ride on) after chugging down a can of canadian molson, and pushing the trike from 1 side to another in the fastest possible time while getting pelted by water balloons.

it was hilarious to watch grown people - and your peers - get off the whole legal eagle thingamabob for once and act like little kids. totally hilarious. got to throw a couple of balloons and got wet unintentionally, but it was a lot of fun. even though the reason why i was catching the trike race was only coz i and this other girl from my group were waiting for 2 more people to show. it's interesting. we've got a presentation on mon and we've done jack. and one of my group mates is currently in LABOUR. her contractions were 1 cm apart as of this afternoon. amazing stuff.

an hour later, we decided tt the meeting shouild be scrapped till we could come up with more material. so i went to find ben who was happily sitting and smoking outside the SUB even though it was ridiculously cold. "studied" for a good hour before he decided tt the 99 b-line was calling.

on to tim horton's at broadway and balaclava st to "study" till the box office at the cinema opposite opened at 7pm. we were going to get tickets to watch tt palestinian movie "paradise now", about 2 palestinian suicide bombers and their thoughts and the last day in their lives after they were commissioned to blow themselves up in tel aviv.

for $6 CAD, we got access to 2 movies for the price of one - "paradise now" at 9.40pm and this indian movie called "water" before tt at 7.30pm. so we decided to get our money's worth, even tho ben had already watched "water".

i hate it tt good or emotionally moving movies are always depressing. i was suitably depressed by the movie. goddammit lah.

paradise now was faster paced in comparison, and less depressing. but likewise slightly disturbing. good, and it did put a so-called human face to an otherwise faceless terrorist, but the ending was somewhat unexpected but no less powerful - EVERYONE left the cinema in silence.

by the time we were done, it was 11.30pm and we were STARVED.

so it was on to denny's where between the 2 of us, we had a bacon cheeseburger (me) with seasoned fries, a meat lover's scramble consisting of scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, rosti and 3 buttermilk pancakes (him), an all american slam consnsting of scrambled eggs with cheese, sausages, bacon, rosti and 2 pieces of toast to share, and a refilable hot chocolate. and considering the size of the servings at denny's... it was sheer *wonder* tt we both managed to finish the food. but we did lah.

by the time i came back to totem, it was past 1am. it's currently 2.49am. i'm still wondering if we are playing dota... hmm.
