why i like spending time with...
friday morning. seemed like all would be fine and dandy when i came down to go to the gym only to be sidetracked into a 2-hour conversation with my father tt promised tt all things would be well...
and indeed, most of my friday went pretty well. i had to go to holland v to do something, so i met him for a lunch of the yummy famous holland v katong laska (it is damn good i tell you), before we trooped off to lavender so tt he could run his own errand.
coz i was hunting for white-office wear, we'd stopped by G2000 at bugis to look for white female shirts, only to be told tt the new stock would only be available at the wisma atria outlet.
nonetheless, passing the entrance of swensen's convinced me tt i *needed* a frosted chocolate malt, my first ever since i'd returned to singapore, so in we went.

me happy with my frosted chocolate malt.

ben's coit tower.

ben, unglam.

and the both of us together. ok, ben kinda unglam again. poor ben. *pat pat* but i love this photo tho. *beam*
so post-swensen's at bugis it was onward to the G2000 at wisma to look for my white shirts. unfortunately they were out-of-stock for my size for those shirts, so i reserved 2 after getting ben to dutifully wait for me to try out sizes, before we took a stroll through the toy town exhibition at taka basement 2.

now, guess who this is, ever-so-fascinated by the remote control car (tt he took over the controls from a bunch of kids instead)?

yup! you guessed it. and he was quite a health hazard. his car kept colliding with the shoes of various adults walking around and one or two baby strollers.
after the boy had had his fill of fun, we made our way down to marina square for dinner, where i had my first taste of carl jr's burgers ever since i came back to singapore.

man, in spite of living in canada for a year, the burger is huge!

my bf had to totally open his mouth just to fit the burger in!

besides tt, in order to avoid me taking more photos of him smoking, he also had to alternate between smoking his cigarette thru a straw...

and acting cute.
i'm not sure which is worse, tho. hee hee.
following dinner, we spent our evening watching the most mind-numbing show of the decade - slither. in our defence, it was the *only* movie available at the time we went. other than tt, it was a long, drawn-out 2 hour procedure on how to eviscerate your brain cells. i'm not sure what the objectives of the movie were, but i speculate tt they were either to function as a societal qualiser - to give intelligent people the chance to feel stupid, such tt they would no longer laugh at stupid people; or as a feel-good type movie - to make stupid people feel better about themselves.
needless to say, intelligent talk was completely out of the question after tt. so we stumbled over to the quaint little starbucks tucked away at an obscure corner at suntec for a relaxing grande mocha (for him) and a iced grande mocha for me.
how relaxing is relaxing, you ask?

well... this relaxing.
ok lah ok lah. ben wasn't just attempting to amalgate into the chair... he was also sending smses...

and looking suitably chargined while doing so.

to his credit, i was little better.
ok ok, i was lounging around...

but i was also photo-whoring...

while he was being all trigger-happy.

the starbucks at suntec is fantastic. the ambience is wonderful, it's quiet and it's really relaxing. similar to life in vancouver and the starbucks at agronomy.
this is what you can see when you look out.

ben also went out for a smoke while we were there. he pulled up two chairs and lounged in front of the window where i was sitting...

...hence explaining this.
and coz we were making funny faces at each other thru the glass, we conclude tt everyone on the outside who's seen him thinks he is mad, while everyone on the insides who's seen me thinks tt i am mad.
oh, and did you know tt adidas has a world cup soccer boots collection?

yay! the world cup is starting tomorrow! my dad wants me to apply for the soccer ppv now.
ben sent me home after the coffee. and tt is when the wonderful qualities of the day receded into the darkness of the night.
my parents never fail to fill me with anger, hurt, sadness and resentment. emotions tt i never otherwise feel with anyone else.
i cannot stay here much longer, if they do not allow me to.
now playing: hotel costes - cafe de flor
